Alex, a light-skinned man with a beard and his wife, Sarah, a light-skinned woman, stand in a state park wearing hiking hats and sunglasses.Alex Petitjean is actually a Ten Forward returnee, and we're delighted to welcome him back to the team.

Alex is a talented Android and Rails developer, and brings a steady, thoughtful perspective to coding and collaboration. (He also has two of the cutest cats and the friendliest English bulldog #10fwPetLife).

Read on for more about Alex, including his staggering board game collection, favorite band, and COVID-19 quarantine hobby.

What brought you (back) to Ten Forward?

“I was looking for a new opportunity, and Ten Forward was always great.”

What are you looking forward to learning or doing in your new position?

“I'm looking forward to working with other mobile developers. I’ve been the solo Android developer on all projects I’ve done, more or less.”

What’s something about you people might find surprising?

Alex paused to think.

"I own over one hundred board games."

Another pause.

"At least, I think. It has to be over 100 by now."

Any fun quarantine hobbies you’ve picked up since COVID-19 struck?

Alex: “I turned on my desktop computer for the first time since moving (into my new house), and have been getting back into video games."

Hilary: "What was the first game you played after turning it back on?"

Alex: "I think it might have been 'Factorial'. It’s kind of like Minecraft, but more focused on automation. You build miners to mine resources, then conveyor belts to carry them to be smelted, then machines to build things."

Describe your perfect Sunday afternoon.

"Probably watching some TV, maybe going to buy groceries. Really just not doing anything in particular.”

Fill in the blanks: "If I could only __ one __ for the rest of my life, it would be __."

"If I could only play one genre of video game for the rest of my life, it would be roguelite deckbuilders (e.g. Slay the Spire, Monster Train)."
