Meet Cerise Pipson, Ten Forward's newest intern! She's joining us for the summer after graduating in May from the Madison YWCA's web development bootcamp, YWeb Career Academy. Cerise loves dogs, cosplaying and video games. She recently took the time to answer a few questions about herself, inluding the crucial "Star Trek or Star Wars?" Read her answers below.

  1. Why did you decide to do YWeb?
I decided to do the YWeb program because I needed a new direction.
  2. Can you tell us a little bit about it? What was it like?
It was really intense because of how much we were learning in such a short time, but it was also really fun, because our teacher was great and we all became very good friends.
  3. What was one of the most interesting things you learned in school?
I think the most interesting thing I learned was jQuery. It's super fun.
  4. What are you excited to learn at your internship?
I'm excited to learn more about Ruby and Ruby on Rails because it was something we didn't cover in class.
  5. First impression of Ten Forward?
My first impression of Ten Forward is that you are all a bunch of really hardworking but also really chill group of people. Also that you're all nerdy, which is awesome.
  6. What's something about you people might find surprising?
I don't think people can tell off the bat when they first meet me that I'm actually an equestrian. I've been riding horses since I was 8 years old. Not lately, though, because I don't have any horses to ride.
  7. Favorite video game, TV show, band, slack emoji.
My favorite video game is Skyrim, all the way. I'd have to say my favorite band is probably the Clash. My favorite TV show is "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." Favorite emoji: 😁
  8. Tell us about the meanings of your name.
My name means "cherry" in French. It's also a pink color
  9. Star Trek or Star Wars?
I love both a lot ... but I'd have to say "Star Trek: First Generation."
